It’s hard to believe that the second week of semester is almost over already. A lot’s been going on, settling into the routine of uni (again =P) and everything that goes with it. I hope you all do well in your studies this semester.
So, what about the club? This semester is going to be packed with screenings, outings and other cool stuff.
First of all if you haven’t already voted, we’re taking a survey of screening times to try and pick thee best times for as many people as possible. If you’d like to tell us and didn’t get a chance to do it during Oreintation Week click here!
The survey will close on Sunday night so be quick! Screening times should be announced early next week.
So what else is happening? On Thursday march 15th there’ll be a picnic/gathering on the lawn outside of the Kingswood campus Swamp bar from about midday. Anyone who want’s to come, have a chat and meet with other club members are welcome to rock up. Food is BYO, but bringing something to share is cool too. The drawing board and good times will be there! Yeah!
Membership Cards
Those of you who don’t have your membership card from Penrith campus can pick it up from Travis at the picnic, the first weeks screenings or just about anywhere else you might see him. Any cards left after that will be mailed out.
Members from Parramatta campus will be revieving cards in the mail this week.
If you don’t receive your card by the end of this week in the mail submit a request for a new card at the contact page and we’ll do our best to fix the problem.
Forums and Chat
Be sure to check out the club’s forum. Anime Sydney is shared by the five university based anime clubs in Sydney so there’s quite a bit of activity, lots of people use the forum to plan outings outside of club events and to talk about all sorts of topics.
JAUWS also has a chat room on the Austnet IRC servers. For more info about connecting to the chat room check the chat page here. Normally there are plenty of people on from about 5pm onwards, but there’s usually always at least someone online all the time.
The chat room and forum are some of the best aspects of the club and are a great way to make new friends, share your art, rant about all those assignments and of course anime!
If you’re into crazy hi-jinks and video editing pop over to http://pdp.jauws.org and contribute to the Panda-Z dub project!
If there’s anything you’d like to ask or tell us go to the contact page and send us an email.
Hope to see you at the picnic and at screenings! ![]()
